Glendale Country Club - Bellevue, WA
The golf course at Glendale Country Club has played host to 11 Washington State Opens, more than any other course. GCC Superintendent, Steve Kealy does a fantastic job of keeping the course in great shape year round and as a result, the club is widely regarded as one of the state's best maintained properties.
Designed by local architect, Al Smith, the course opened in 1958 and currently plays to a slope of 138 at 6,663 yards. Typical to courses designed in this era, the course winds back and forth through tight tree lined fairways. I spent most of my time punching back into those fairways from the trees. Within the past several years, the course has removed hundreds of trees in order to improve course conditions and make the course more playable.
