Rancho San Marcos - Santa Barbara, CA
When we played Rancho San Marcos on a 4th of July golfing trip, California was in a major drought and Rancho San Marcos was doing it's part in the water conservation effort.
Even though the course was mostly brown I still enjoyed the par 71, 6,939 yard, Robert Trent Jones Jr design. Nestled in the Santa Ynez mountains and with no urban development around, the course had a great feel to it.
I finished the trip off with a bang making a 40 foot birdie putt on 18 to break par. One of those that probably would have rolled off the green had it not went in. Wooo yeah!
