Tahoe Donner Golf Course - Truckee, CA

On the very first hole, you get a sense of what your round at Tahoe Donner Golf Club is going to entail.  The starting hole is aptly named "Corridor" and is 452 yards long down a narrow chute of trees.  After a tough start you will run into similar challenges along the way with holes named "The Chute" and The "Eye of the Dragon."

The course originally opened for play in 1976 with a front nine designed by Roy Williams and the back nine by Billy Bell Jr.  However, in 2006, Cary Bickler renovated the entire course earning a 2007 nomination for Best Remodeled Golf Course in America by Golf Digest.

Since every hole at Tahoe Donner is relatively tight and tree lined, I decided that I would just hit 3 iron off of the tee on every hole.  While this may have appeared to be a rather extreme strategy, I managed to hit 13 of 14 fairways and shot 75 without a tree in my way all day.
